Academics & Programs

CCPA’s academic program is divided into three divisions, each with a distinct purpose and a corresponding structure to support that purpose.

Division 1
6th and 7th grades

Division 2
8th – 9th grades
Division 3
10th - 12th grades
D1 has a goal of rapid academic growth.  To achieve our goal of every student on grade level by 8th grade, our Division 1 students loop with the same teachers for two years to build meaningful relationships.  They also participate in a mandatory extended day until 5pm for intense academic support. D2 is our traditional secondary school structure, with an emphasis on college preparation. Extended day academic support is also required for our Division 2 students until 4 or 5 pm.  In 9th grade students begin Pathway course work. D3 students participate in our Early College and Internship program on a modified half-day schedule.  They have the option of taking CSU/UC transferable courses through Peralta Community Colleges, participating in a professional internship, and/or taking on a community leadership role.  The goal of Division 3 is to successfully transition our students into college and/or career by initiating that process in a safe and supportive environment while building competitive college resumes and strong community leaders.
